French Terry fabric is a knitted terry cloth fabric that features loops and soft piles of yarn on one side, (usually the inside of a garment), and a smooth, soft surface on the other side. The result is an absorbent, light-weight, moisture-wicking material that's super comfortable to wear any day of the year. It's heavier than a t-shirt, yet lighter than most sweatshirts, and works well by itself or as a layer over or under another piece.

While French Terry is technically a jersey fabric, it's heavier in weight than a standard cotton jersey and lighter than a sweatshirt fleece.
